A Month Into the School and...

Well, everything is abit more settled now around here. The month of September was busy with holidays and new routines for everyone. Sister is settling in well in her first term and has recently finished her 1st set of mid-terms, a big sigh. Eliana has fought through two colds so it is building her immunity system well. She is really enjoying making so many new friends, even started the playdates too! We are full swing into the birthday party invites so its alot of fun.
For me it has been back to the school routine and waking up at 6:30 am , etc., etc...

We have made some couple friends from the school and have been on several park outings and am looking forward to a dinner invite this weekend. Its all good for Eliana.

We are trying to make the best of this weather and going to the parks after lunch as much as we can. I hope it lasts...

Eliana found her sister's old costumes and chose "Belle", seems to be her favourite

At Stanley Park where she had a balloon made into Arial, she loved it!!

Granville Island Fun...

Well it was a perfect day, not too hot nor cold at Granville Island. We had fun watching ducks and geese and playing in the park. Last bit of fun before summer ends...Hope you all had a good one.

Here daddy comes to the rescue on the very wobbly chain bridge...she held on hard...

They ran up and down a very steep hill off the boardwalk...what fun she had too on the way down

Oh my..the treats were calling our names...we settled for lunch food instead....

I love this pose of hers with her hands behind her back...I think she watches me do that..

Running towards the ducks and geese...in the background is her stroller and the doll she put there to watch her

New Beginnings...

Well summer is almost over and we have had quite a full house and schedule. Now we begin new with Eliana starting her Preschool year and her sister starting her first year at UBC. Time goes by so fast, again...Kat has been quite busy gathering books, parking passes, school supplies, and mapping her classes these past couple of weeks. Eliana wrapped up her summer sessions for gymnastics ad attended a BBQ hosted by her new school for the Preschool, Kindergarten and new families on Monday. It turned out really spectacular. Great facilities, clean and very very welcoming community feel. Before I knew it she was starting preschool on the 1st of Sept then today she was "alone" for the full session and she did great. Of course I didn't sleep the day before but she seems to be adjusting very very well. I can say the teachers are extraordinary.

Eliana waving her certificate

BBQ at new school...rock in shoe...

First day at Preschool and welcome from the school principal
Play doh - her favourite - although she is making a funny face

After school, hanging in the backyard swing...I remember doing this a long time ago

Fun...

Eliana has had a wonderful summer! Her grandparents have returned home last week so she misses them so much. She still runs to their room every time she comes down for breakfast . We will see them in a couple of years for sure. She is back to her routine now and will be starting preschool Sept. 1st. You're probably wondering why on the 1st, well its the New Year holidays the week after so they will start earlier to get a few school days in before the break. We are anxious to see how she will enjoy her own time.

With Saba at the school park

Fun visit with Kira playing with everything, thanks for the playdate, can't wait to visit you!

Eliana and sister helping Pao Pao blow out her 76th birthday candle last week... Happy Birthday

At the beach yesterday with friends. Of course they find the most wonderful things like this log with a hole that would probably fit Talia. Entertained them for abit. Eliana was able to see the local seal that swims along the shore and a whole lots of crabs.

Eliana picking the tomatoes from her garden, it has really been fun having this little project for her.

Summer FUN!!!

Here Eliana is playing soccer at the artificial turf park by the school. It is a million dollar park and hosts alot of soccer events. Eliana loves running the lines and kicking the ball, she can also do so while running, loves it!!

Remember her garden she planted in the egg cartons back in May, well these are her fruits of her labour, the snow peas and lettuce. We have used them for our salads daily. Did she ever love the growing process of the seeds and loves her garden.

At the waterpark with her umbrella (ok its a little tiny to cover her head but shes so cute when she puts in on). The umbrella actually belongs to her sister, it is a decorative one from disneyland. It was a super fun day in the park and she visited the ice cream truck too!! It was a hot one last weekend.

Gymnastics session...Eliana has truly grown in her ability to do the routines independently. She especially loves looking at herself in the large and long mirrors (funny her brother and sister do that still).

Swimming....

Sorry I forgot to post the pic of Eliana swimming in the pool. Here she is with her Saba (grandpa). The videos I have of her swimming I think are too long to post, you'll get bored of my voice as it sounds so near, hee hee...

Busy Month of FUN !!

Eliana has had wonderful adventures this last month. Her grandparents arrived for the summer and they were blown away with her. They haven't seen her since she was a month old. They have bonded exceptionally well and now every waking minute she asks where is Saba? Safta? (hebrew for grandpa and grandma?) We are enjoying the sunshine and just arrived back from Whistler where we celebrated daddy's birthday. Eliana went swimming in the pool everyday and met a new friend from Vancouver who we look forward to connecting with. Her vocabulary has expanded tremendously. She now asks for things such as, "where is my pink sunglasses?" or says "thank you very much"... so many cute sayings. We are still working on the night time diaper but otherwise she is free. We are starting our summer gymnastics program now and look forward to that.

June year end gymnastics where Eliana is receiving her ribbon and certificate

Just Can't Wait...

Eliana has been enjoying the busy spring season with alot of playdates and outings. It has been a very very busy month with home renovations, spring clean up, sister's graduation functions, and alot of play time. Eliana continues to enjoy the outdoors. We had a picnic at Spanish banks that included frolicking in the tidal pools with daddy and of course you can guess what was next, yes, the full frontal fall into the muck, it was a blast!!! Lucky we had 2 sets of clothes changes as she couldn't resist and did a half waist fall after. Love it!! She is sleeping full time in her own room for a few months now and is really really enjoying it, that makes us happy. Her potty training has evolved tremendously with her now going on and off the toilet by herself. Yes she still shouts out "chocolate" when # 2's plop plop. She is wearing the training pants only a night now but we are hoping she will stop that before end of summer. We are continuing our gymnastics program thru the summer although we will probably be out in the parks, Science World or the Aquarium lots.

We are preparing our household for Eliana's grandparents arrival from Israel next week. We are ALL looking forward to the visit and can't wait til they meet again. We have sure missed them.

A favourite of Eliana's - she got her brother to do artwork too (which he is very good at)

At the park yesterday catching a shade moment in the house

What can you say, we're OLD SCHOOL...

Eliana enjoyed the first day of May as daddy set up her swing set (when the video was taken it wasn't completely finished). She had a few oops off the swing but i'm sure she is get into the swing of it soon, LOL. Yes, the swingset is old school 4 poster metal. It has the infamous air glider (loved it myself growing up) and 2 swings and a wave slide, in one of Eliana's favourite colors of blue.

Love and more love...

Eliana is loving the outdoors this season, as you will notice from the pics below. She is go go growing like the song on Bobs & Lolo (love their DVD). Her garden is watered daily by her (of course mummy supervision as some have drowned), she is watching the peas sprout and lettuce too.
Her songs she sings have expanded to "intsy wintsy spider" and some more hebrew songs. I still haven't figured how to transfer them from the cd recorder to this so sorry, you will just have to come over to see her performances. Eliana continues to delight us with her conversation in all languages, it is truly a work of art... As the summer and the end of school looms near our household has been busy organizing rooms, watching sister have her grad events and de-cluttering. Eliana's grandparents from Isreal will be here very soon and we are all so excited and she has been practising saying their names in hebrew.

Eliana's garden, she is so proud

Strawberry milkshake at Whitespot (love the pirate pak)

Chasing the massive bubbles daddy is making in our backyard, this is a favourite of hers

Our neighbors and kids in our cul-de-sac, they are absolutely wonderful with Eliana
