It's a given...
Eliana added a water activity center to her backyard gym and she absolutely loves it. When at the Strong Start Preschool Program at Grauer Elementary last week she was fascinated with their water table. It's fun playing on it especially during the hot sunny days, it gets all over her clothes, of course.

WOW, Nice...
Eliana had a super weekend, again. I didn't mention in the last post the funny words she has come up with. She has been putting words together for a few months now, the simple hi dada, bye ma ma, hi jea jea, open more, etc. One of the funny phrases she came up with this weekend was "Wow...Nice" when she was in the tub playing with the dripping water spout. It was a good laugh. Here are some pics from this weekend at Minoru Park on both days and the mall...
The park is attached to some large grassy fields and a track so here Eliana is taking in the vast open space
This is the park pond, yes it really is this color, I believe its man made and the water doesn't really move. But we saw signs of life around like a blue heron and here in the picture are actual ducks

Thanks for the Fine Weather...
Eliana is really enjoying the outdoors and taking advantage of the fine weather we have. She has had several playdates in new parks and at home. Thanks to Pao Pao for buying her a new sandbox and climber, she always wants to be out in the backyard.
Developmentally she amazes us everyday. She sings parts of songs she loves with up to a line of words, she counts in all three languages and her memory is truly spectacular. Daddy has these hebrew flashcards with pictures on them and on the weekend when I had a glass of wine, Eliana pointed to the bottle and said the word in hebrew, we were shocked and gladly surprised our daughter recognizes alcoholic drinks, ha ha. Actually the flashcard is for wine but in the traditional Friday night Shabbat prayer way. There is so much she says in all the languages so full immersion of each of the languages has worked out, so far. Eliana also identifies hot and cold items and quickly advises us if her food is one or the other. She has learnt to say yes for things and okay for others. We know the "tantrum" stage is coming as Eliana does not like to leave the park or certain places that she loves to be, hopefully with a little compromise she will get over this fast. She is at the stage where she is lifting up her shirts to flash everyone and pats her belly with laughter, not sure what that is about yet but its funny, daddy is not liking that too much, hee hee. I am sure its just the heat.
Grocery shopping in her sports car, like how she has her hand on the side, careful not to get the farmers tan...
Her new sand toy bucket, had to try it out for a ride
Eliana at playgroup riding one of these plasma cars, this was her first time on and off by herself...

Speedy recovery just in time
Eliana came down with a 102 degree fever on Friday morning when she woke. Although Tylenol took the temp down her cough was bad and breathing was short so we decided to take her into the doctors office. Well that was an adventure. It seems like she remembers the office from her last visit (4 immunization shots at 12 months) so she starting screaming when we got to the third floor elevator and walking down the hall way. So we kept her out in the stairways looking out the windows until she was called. It was chaos then. Non stop crying right through the check up to the minute we left. I am sure no one could hear themselves think because she is naturally loud. So daddy took her out of the office right away and the gals at reception suggested that for the 18 month shots (I had to cancel them this week as she was sick) that we should take her to the Public Health branch and keep the doctor's visits for checkups only. I think we will do that, phew. Eliana was a brave soldier though and woke up Saturday morning her happy self, seems like the cough she had the last few weeks may have caused an infection so the meds worked on it, great.
So, Eliana is recovering very well, except for the cough that sounds like an old smoker. She enjoyed the sun today and has a playdate tomorrow at the Minoru park, just in time to have fun.
Enjoy the sun everyone...keep smiling
