whooPOO!!!
Well, I guess it was to come, Eliana is now doing No. 2 in the potty, 2 days in a row, so far and fingers crossed...She is getting a really good handle on this...YEAH!!
Twinkle Twinkle...
Eliana has always loved this song and I've been singing it to her since she was an infant. Here she is singing it to me now. BTW, she loves stars, planets and moons. One of her favourite books is about our solar system. Here is Eliana's singing debut

whooPEE...
The second part of the word being the word of the day. Our little girl went to the grown up potty today and let out a "stream" to put it politely. Although I was explaining it to her when she was I am not sure if she actually knew it but after my praising, clapping, and shouts to daddy, I think she got it. Eliana has been going without diapers for a few hours at a time lately. It helps that she has been watching her dvd of Elmo and his potty time. It was such a moment of joy...WOW... She is also now not using sippy cups and drinking from a cup. I need to work on the 1 bottle she has and diapers and we will move onto the next step. Weeeeeeee...

Happy Holidays...
Its a busy time of the year for all. Since our last post our household has gone thru some great times. Eliana's sister obtained her drivers licence, daddy has scored a top grade in his heavy duty ticket, brother has actually kept his place clean and tidy all on his own and finished his first two courses at UBC, these are all fabulous accomplishments, good work guys, I am very proud of you. For myself, I feel my brain is finally coming back, at least thats my opinion.
OK we wish all of our family and friends a Happy Chanukah and Christmas. We miss our overseas family so dearly and hope to see them soon. Thanks for viewing the blog.
Be safe and peaceful during this wonderful season. All of our love...

Beautiful days...
It has been so beautiful with the sunshine and crisp air. Eliana has been enjoying the parks for as long as it lasts... Since celebrating her second birthday she has blossomed even more (mother's opinion). The pictures below show her feeding a baby a bottle while in her rocking chair and below playing house.
Eliana had her first dentist visit and no cavities, yeah! I was worried as she was taking a bottle during the night up to about a month ago. Some areas to watch for but with continuous brushing we should be fine. She was all fine with the dentist visit. She watched the TV on the ceiling, pointed to things, and then the time for the "chair" and it was abit frantic then but the DR. managed to take a quick peek and voila... Phew...
Eliana continues to expand her vocabulary and can spell the letters in words (upper case, for now). She loves shapes and her sister has taught her "octagon" if you can believe that. So when we are colouring and creating shapes with playdoh, she will ask for her new shape. She amazes us everyday. Eliana has been combining her words to make short 3 word sentences but lately she is trying to say longer sentences and you can see her mind working fast...what fun, now I will have another person telling me what to do and how to do it...LOL...
Looking forward to seeing all of you over the holiday season.

Long time no Post...
It has been a very busy month at our home. Eliana is surprising us everyday with her expanding vocabulary and feisty attitude (something daddy is adjusting too). Besides her ability to sing the alphabet and numbers songs she has been able to identify letters now and spell them out loud lately. Her sentence structures are growing into 3 words together like, "one more time" or "up there please" in english. Her chinese and hebrew are still at the singular word identification stage but I am sure she learn soon enough, we are not worried. She loves ice cream cones and sprinkle short bread cookies as her treats. We recently discovered these lollipops that are naturally made from watermelon, goji berry and other fab flavours that are made out of things like beet juice, tumeric and cane sugar...you know we had one and they are actually fantastic and without the sucrose/fructose stuff. We recently measured her height on the family grow chart and she is almost 35" and weighs approx 32# now. Pretty healthy!! We can't believe she is turning 2, where does the time go?
Time goes by...

Eliana, the funny girl...
Eliana has started the funny and girly things they do at this age. Below you will see just how funny she is. She plopped this on her head one day and walks around with it on looking out through the opening, quite hilarious. She has started to put the barbie dolls, stuffed animals, whatever into the bassinette and covers them with blankets. She feeds her elmo and cookie monster stuffies with food she is eating and even puts the drinks in their mouths, cute eh?
I remember these days from her sister. They are gentle and quietly playing on their own, girls rule...
Eliana has had abit of the sniffles and cough this week so we have her bundled up for her ride in our cul de sac today as you will see in the pictures below. She loves her dora trike, the dogs, and daddy too. She had been home quite often this week compared to normal, although we did get in the normal visit with grandma yesterday.
Her cognitive and motor skills are truly incredible. In the picture below she has learned to stack the cups on her own. She did this with her sister yesterday, to Kat's amazement, and alot of thanks to her daddy for this game he plays with her. I have said this before and will say it again, Eliana continues to amaze us everyday. She also sings the song " have you ever seen the rain" version by rod stewart and her favourite part is "i wanna know". I think music has had a tremendous impact on her. She truly adores music and a favourite since in my womb was her sister's piano playing songs of "fur elise" and rihanna's song (sorry don't know the name). We smile alot nowadays...

Show Me the Love...
Eliana is a hugger. She loves to hug her little friends and sometimes their mothers. She is not so good with men (thats ok with us), except daddy, of course. Lately she has been dishing them out and one of her little friends, named Ty, sees her coming down the park path and stops and shouts "STOP" with his hand out. Its quite funny and we moms have a laugh cuz Eliana does not understand of course yet and Ty being 3 does. Here she is below giving hugs to Kira and her mom, all at once today. Yes, Eliana is all about showing the love. The girls had fun today and always get along very well.
The last couple months have been quite a developmental one for Eliana. She has stopped her naps for good and is handling it well. Me on the other hand am doing alot of things at once during the day to get by but its been challenging and fun. Eliana has added Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and Mary had a Little Lamb to her songlists. She recently viewed a Sesame Street episode starring Tilly and the Wall, where they are tap dancing to the alphabet, so guess what, she is copying their feet movement but it looks like she is marching in place, I will try to transfer it from my video to the blog. Love it.
It is remarkable her ability to articulate the words and with such strong memory skills. She says things like, daddy, are you ok?, how are you?, what happened?, I love you, where are you going?, what are you doing?, next it will be the famous "are we there yet?". Its been a word adventure for her and she is like a sponge. She is able to understand majority of what I ask of her in Cantonese and respond accordingly and her daddy also in hebrew.

At the park with her Dora trike. It is getting colder with that wind !!

Eliana, the little girl...
Eliana truly loves the outdoors and all it offers. She chases the squirrels in the park, feeds the ducks, runs the trails of Garden City Park to the very arched bridge to see the expansive pond full of ducks and geese. One of Eliana's favourite things to do is to pick the flowers (weeds I should say). As you can see in the below picture she scored with two of the fuzzy blowing things.
It is fine park weather this week, so far... I hope all of you have settled into the routines of life...

Yes, its the kids pit at Oakridge, I am sure you all recognize this mind boggling print
Eliana waking up, it takes her awhile to spring into action
She lucked out on the weekend with the Sears sales lady gave her two special balloons. As you can see dad broke down before and bought a mylar one... she loves balloons.
